Eshani Chakraborty, Ph.D., is Professor at the Department of History, University of Dhaka. In addition, she served as adjunct faculty in North South University and University of Asia Pacific.
Professor Chakraborty has had a Ph.D on indigenous women from Monash University, Australia and an MA from Northern Illinois, USA. She completed her Bachelor degree from the University of Dhaka.
Prof. Chakraborty recieved several prestigious scholarships & fellowships including the Fulbright fellowship, International Post Graduate Research Scholarship, Monash Graduate Scholarship, USIS and UGC fellowhships. She served as a consultant and researcher on gender and other related issues in national and international organizations like UNDP, Oxfam and Welthungerhilfe, NAEM, Bangladesh Shilpokola Academy etc. She participated in different national & ainternational seminars held in Canada, USA, Australia, Singapore, India and Bangladesh.
Prof. Chakraboty has also served as executive committee member, trusty board member and member at different non- government social, research & academic organisations like Action Aid Bangladesh, Bangladesh Asiatic Society, Community Development Association, RDC and Jono Itihas Charcha Kendro (জন-ইতিহাস). She is a member of Itihas Sammilani, Bangladesh Itihas Samiti, Itihas Academy, American Research Institute, Hyderabad, Jana Udyog, Abol Tabol Shishu Sangathan and Cancer Society.
She has jointly written five books and a number of research articles.
