Mahmuda Afroz Lucky

Mahmuda Afroz Lucky, an Additional Superintendent of Bangladesh Police was born in a distinguished Muslim family in Dhaka. Her father is a freedom fighter and her mother is a homemaker. She is the first among the three daughters of her parents. Her husband is also serving in BD Police. She has two daughters.

She passed her SSC and HSC with brilliant results from Dhaka Board. Then she completed her LL. B (Hons.) & Master’s degree from the Faculty of Law from the University of Dhaka. She has her second Master’s degree in Police Science from the University of Rajshahi.

She joined in Judicial Service. There she was appointed as Judicial Magistrate in Narayanganj district. Afterward, she joined BCS (Police) in 2010 through the 28th batch and after completion of 1 year of training, among 180 combined officials. She achieved the Award of the Best Academic from the Honorable Prime Minister.

She served in different operational and vibrant posts in Dhaka Metropolitan Police, especially in Detective Branch and in Mirpur Division, and brightened the faces of two women’s Police Leadership Awards two times in 2016 and 2018.

She was awarded IPG’s Exemplary Good Services Badge in 2018 and 2019. In 2015, she achieved the President Police Medal from the Honorable Prime Minister for her dedication and uninterrupted police service. She is awarded by different organizations.

She works for preventing violence against women and children. She has some valuable writing to build awareness about crimes against women and cybercrimes as well.

She was the women’s Affairs Secretary in the Bangladesh Police Service Association for three years. Now, she is holding the post of Organizing Secretary of the sole association for the BCS police officers. Thus she is promoting women’s empowerment in society. She is an inspiration for the young generation, especially women of the society who likes to take on a challenge and work for the nation.
