Md Abdul Wahed Tomal has been working in the area of Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D), since 2001. He has experience in developing more than 100 large scales IT projects and served more than 700 clients in Bangladesh and abroad through different services. He organized more than 1000 events (fairs, workshops, seminars etc.) in Bangladesh and abroad. Tomal has contributed in National Policy Making, especially in IT/ ITES and e-Commerce sector. He has been playing a leadership role in e-Commerce and e-Learning sector in Bangladesh. He has been strongly contributing in the ICT development of the country, especially in e-Commerce, e-Learning, Broadcasting, software development, content development, innovation, women empowerment and climate issues.
And also has over 18 years of experience in technology writing, publication and printing with the Monthly Computer Jagat Magazine, the first and the highest circulated IT magazine in Bangladesh. Tomal has been leading his company, COMJAGAT TECHNOLOGIES, since 2007. Under his leadership the company has received Service Innovation Award from Prime Minister’s Office (Access to Information Programme) in year 2015 and also received Manthan Award in year 2009. He has professional experience of working with International Organization, such as – United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Asian Development Bank (ADB).
He has established the first IT portal COMJAGAT.COM and the largest e-Commerce site on electronics products, E-JAGAT.COM in Bangladesh. He has introduced live webcast service in Bangladesh through WEBTVNEXT.COM.
He has been involved with several e-Government Initiatives in Bangladesh as a solution provider, a partner or a consultant. His client list includes Prime Minister’s Office, UNDP, ADB, Ministry of Science and ICT, Bangladesh Computer Council and many other universities, associations, private companies, international organization and government organizations.
